Coordinates filing review considerations within the office, with other offices in the Division, and with other offices and divisions in the Commission, as applicable. Performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised including: plans, schedules, and assigns work to staff; establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members; provides feedback; periodically evaluates employee performance; oversee training and development of staff; manages time and attendance; and carries out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and program activities. Essential Functions Daily Duties: Oversight of full-time Building Attendants that perform daily office housekeeping duties.
Develop schedules for part-time staff, and/or subcontractors, to fill needs for daily housekeeping projects outside the scope of the building attendants.
Meet with staff weekly to prioritize projects, identify challenges, and create solutions.
Provide insight for upcoming event budgets by forecasting needs, supplies, equipment, and/or trainings. Monitor the budget and track expenditures.
Conduct facility inspections with Building Attendant staff and report to Building Operations Manager for repairs.
Maintain proper and adequate inventory/supply levels; keep accurate and organized logs of event purchases for billing purposes.
Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of janitorial (includes waste) services, delivery methods, and procedures; identify challenges as well as improvement opportunities and present them to the Assistant Director.
Oversee use and condition of assigned Golf Cart and University Vehicle.
Procure, and maintain equipment and supply inventories with up-to-date MSDS logs.
Monitor, maintain, and ensure accuracy of inventory and reporting environments. Event Duties: Scheduling adequate staffing levels of part-time housekeeping staff or vendors to fill all shifts for upcoming event housekeeping needs.
Check in and assign staff to event posts, conduct pre-event production meetings with staff, monitor during the event, and complete post event walk-throughs for Quality Assurance to ensure staff is following proper procedures and completing assigned tasks.
Manages event housekeeping conversions to ensure efficient operations. As needed, lead overnight conversions, and prepare for the next day's events. Guest Services Duties; Work with Event Manager, Assistant Director, and/or Director to make sure adequate Guest Services personnel are scheduled to assist in major events.
Work with the 3d party contracted vendor to provide all event details and host pre-production meetings prior to events.
Monitors Guest Services and corrects issues in a timely manner during events. Makes timely decisions and informs event manager, manager on duty, vendors, or University departments to ensure their ability to solve issues as they arise.
Review and submit Guest Services log to appropriate staff post events. Administrative Duties: Plan, develop, and implement programs that ensure the cleanliness of Special Use Facilities.
Learn and train on UTEP policies and procedures, including the Emergency Preparedness Plan, and other appropriate safety trainings. Provide leadership to staff, tenants, and public in emergency response situations.
Work with subcontractors/vendors to plan, delegate and monitor workflow, improve procedures, correct deficiencies, and prioritize conflict resolution; and implement disciplinary actions and/or termination policies.
Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA workplace safety procedures.
Ensure compliance with University Health and Safety Guidelines.
Develop department and other reports, including but not limited to work orders, condition reports, inventory reports, and activity and incident reports, as needed.
Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekend, and holidays, as needed.

Demonstrate knowledge in janitorial procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services for the types of events anticipated by the facility.
Experience operating equipment such as pallet jacks, Tennant Ride-On Cleaning Machines is a plus.
Highly detail oriented, prioritizing correctly storing equipment and maintaining a clean workspace.
Must be self-motivated and work under little supervision with the ability to prioritize tasks in the most productive and/or appropriate manner.
Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.

Essential Functions Daily Duties: Oversight of full-time Building Attendants that perform daily office housekeeping duties.
Develop schedules for part-time staff, and/or subcontractors, to fill needs for daily housekeeping projects outside the scope of the building attendants.
Meet with staff weekly to prioritize projects, identify challenges, and create solutions.
Provide insight for upcoming event budgets by forecasting needs, supplies, equipment, and/or trainings. Monitor the budget and track expenditures.
Conduct facility inspections with Building Attendant staff and report to Building Operations Manager for repairs.
Maintain proper and adequate inventory/supply levels; keep accurate and organized logs of event purchases for billing purposes.
Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of janitorial (includes waste) services, delivery methods, and procedures; identify challenges as well as improvement opportunities and present them to the Assistant Director.
Oversee use and condition of assigned Golf Cart and University Vehicle.
Procure, and maintain equipment and supply inventories with up-to-date MSDS logs.
Monitor, maintain, and ensure accuracy of inventory and reporting environments. Event Duties: Scheduling adequate staffing levels of part-time housekeeping staff or vendors to fill all shifts for upcoming event housekeeping needs.
Check in and assign staff to event posts, conduct pre-event production meetings with staff, monitor during the event, and complete post event walk-throughs for Quality Assurance to ensure staff is following proper procedures and completing assigned tasks.
Manages event housekeeping conversions to ensure efficient operations. As needed, lead overnight conversions, and prepare for the next day's events. Guest Services Duties; Work with Event Manager, Assistant Director, and/or Director to make sure adequate Guest Services personnel are scheduled to assist in major events.

30% Lab Access & Qualification Program – The iLabs Machinist, in collaboration with others, is responsible for administering appropriate qualifications for access to tools, machines and spaces to students across the OSU community as it aligns with the iLabs Space Access Plan. Job Overview:
Under minimal supervision, provides an optimal, age-appropriate Spanish classroom learning environment for Middle School students, teaching students the beauty of a second language, and preparing students to potentially access higher-level Spanish classes in high school. Supports students, parents, and other community members in realizing our Guiding Principles. Abides by our Framework for Professional Standards.
General responsibilities:
Teaches Middle School Spanish classes, likely grades seven and eight
Serves as an 8th grade Advisor
With support, leads the international 8th grade trip to a Spanish-speaking country each spring
Develops and implements curriculum and unit plans
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of teaching practices and a commitment to teaching within a caring, highly academic environment
Promotes the field of Spanish education within school community by creating school events, participating in interdisciplinary projects, developing field trips, and building connections with native speakers in local and international communities
Observes laws and the schools policies, procedures and regulations which have application to and implication for the professionals responsibilities
Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the schools documents
Since safety and security are everyones responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities
Participates in Middle School Division and planning meetings
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Education, Training & Experience:
A bachelors degree, with an emphasis in middle school education or related areas from a four-year college or university required
Masters Degree in middle school education or related areas preferred
3+ years of combined teaching experience required
Experience in teaching Spanish 1 or higher level courses at Middle School or High School
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English
Strong knowledge of culture and history of Spanish-speaking areas
Familiarity with current learning theories and basic principles of human growth and development and ability to consider them in the design and implementation of learning experiences
Ability to manage the dynamics of a classroom
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the children and program
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain confidential information
Ability to work collaboratively in team situations
Ability to work efficiently in a Microsoft Windows environment using Microsoft Office, master common automated systems for record keeping, and learn new technology
Ability to work and communicate well with all levels of faculty and staff
Ability to work and communicate well with students and their parents
Ability to work outside in all weather
Some travel required (field trips)
