The Hawaii State Library is scheduled to host "An Introduction to the Hawaiian Language," a free program presented by two noted University of Hawaii at Manoa Hawaiian Language professors, on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. Conducting this program will be Noelani Losch, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the UH-Manoa Department of Hawaiian and Indo-Pacific Languages and Literatures, and Puakea Nogelmeier, Assistant Professor of Hawaiian. Professors Losch and Nogelmeier are scheduled to introduce participants to the Hawaiian language by sharing some history and some basics of the language
