Org Name:

Fountain of Jacob, Inc.

Org Synopsis

The Fountain of Jacob, Inc. is a non-profit organization that has taken the lead in providing alternative programs for youths that have been arrested, placed on house arrest, placed in foster care due to crimes committed, school drop-outs, gang and domestic violence, alcohol and substance related activities. I am writing to see if you would consider a proposal to expand our programs to include: advocating in the court system, mentoring/tutoring, educational, employment and counseling services available to these youths.

Our organization began in 2003. Our mission is focused toward strengthening youths, families and communities through positive intervention. Our organization opened the center with 25 youths and adolescents and has increased to over 105 youths and adolescents. This is a major increase from when we started this program. We have had many success reports from our children and their families, since they entered these programs. Their grades improved tremendously and some of our youths have graduated from high school and have entered colleges that we have assisted them in applying to. Our major goal is to convince these young people to seek some form of additional education, to abstain from drugs and other illegal substance, return to school and create programs that will allow these youths to develop a skill that would allow them to work towards owning their own businesses and buying homes.

The mission of Fountain of Jacob is to help strengthen families and communities through positive intervention methods. Our mission will allow us room for growth as we develop new strategies that will allow families and communities to link together in achieving their sense of values and self-worth. Our main focus is to reach the entire communities.

In the next five years, Fountain of Jacob will become a catalyst for children, youths, adolescents, and families of at-risk individuals by creating a safer, more harmonious community by helping individuals acquire education, flee from domestic violence, gang violence, and any other volatile actions that would cause them not to achieve the necessary skills needed in becoming self-sufficient and live prosperous, productive lives.

Goals and Objectives

• To provide domestic violence victims with a more efficient method of safety by placing them in more remote areas
• To educate families and communities on the seriousness of domestic violence and homelessness
• To improve the effectiveness of working with families of abuse and conduct follow-ups to ensure program outcome
• To encourage educational programs by offering home schooling, after hours tutoring, self-sufficiency training, promoting alternative training and intervention strategies
