Implement strategies to recruit and retain diverse faculty and staff, and ensure inclusive teaching and learning environments for all students. • Assist in the development, revision and implementation of the College’s Educational Comprehensive Plan (formerly known as Educational Master Plan). Lead the College’s instructional planning and program review to ensure alignment between College and District planning goals and objectives. • Utilize data analytics and assessment tools to inform decision making and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and services. Monitor key performance indicators related to student outcomes, program quality, and equity metrics. • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth among faculty and staff within the instructional division. Provide support and resources for faculty development, pedagogical innovation, and the adoption of best practices in teaching and learning. • Oversee the collegial process to update and maintain College curriculum that meets all state mandates and advances student success. • Ensure the assessment of student learning outcomes and service area outcomes to determine the effectiveness of student learning in instructional programs. • Provide oversight in the preparation of each semester/term class schedule and ensures effective enrollment management. • Actively engage in and support College participatory governance and other collaborative processes, and represent the College on District-wide committees and project teams. • Participate in the hiring, training, management, and evaluation of College managers, faculty, and classified staff. • Oversee and facilitate College faculty coordinator recruitments, interviews, agreements, reviews and evaluations. • Oversee and manage the Instructional operating budgets. • Interpret, ensure compliance with, and help develop provisions of relevant collective bargaining agreements. • Employ appropriate techniques and strategies to resolve disputes and to enhance communication and cooperation within the College. • Review Service Agreements, Grants, and Memoranda of Understanding within the Instruction area and recommend for approval or denial to the College President. • Collaborate with community organizations, K-12 partners, professional organizations, and industry stakeholders to promote educational success and workforce development. • Assist with the campus institutional advancement efforts, including the writing and administration of grants. • Assume other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the College President. • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Position Summary: The Water Bureau has an exciting opportunity in its Engineering Design Section. This position will manage a group that completes capital projects for the Engineering Services Group. The role will help in ensuring the delivering high quality, efficient, and critical projects for Portland Water Bureau (PWB) customers. The Engineering Supervisor will work closely with the Design Section Engineering Manager to lead and supervise a staff of Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and Capital Project Managers.
This position currently oversees work to support the water bureaus Groundwater, and Pump Station & Distribution Storage Programs. Responsibilities include providing oversight for and assigning work for engineering staff to ensure that program and project goals are met. Work includes review of scopes, schedules and budgets for the program and individual projects are established and maintained. This position monitors and provides input for projects from Planning to Construction Management; performs design project quality assurance/quality control check; actively participates as a member of Project Review Board (PRB) and the Engineering Management Team (EMT). The position provides technical training and mentoring for Section staff; guides development of staff to fill future needs; interacts with other Groups in the water bureau, other city bureaus and outside agencies on joint projects. This position may also be designated project manager to lead sensitive and/or technically complex projects requiring a senior level engineer.
To successfully deliver these programs, the Engineering Supervisor will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including staff throughout the PWB (operations, maintenance and construction, water quality, resource protection), consultants, construction contractors, other City bureaus, regulatory agencies, and the general public. This position has the opportunity to build and grow this program, to recommend standards, policies, and procedures that protect PWB assets, and to develop new pathways for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
The Engineering Supervisor in this section will continue to develop, support, grow equity and diversity in staff, workplace environment, processes, and program goals. The position will also actively participate in supporting the Bureau's Strategic Plan, Vision and Mission statements. This is a permanent full-time position.

Position Summary: The Water Bureau has an exciting opportunity in its Engineering Design Section. This position will manage a group that completes capital projects for the Engineering Services Group. Minimum Qualifications Completion of high school or equivalent, and two years experience in the field of automotive mechanics, of which one year of experience must have been in diesel mechanics; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. An employee assigned to this classification is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, overhauling and maintaining a wide variety of fleet vehicles and equipment, with minimal supervision. Work is assigned by, and performed under the general supervision of a higher level supervisor and is reviewed at various stages and upon completion.Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS This is an emergency essential classification. Upon declaration of a disaster and/or emergency, all employees in this classification are required to work. Exudes a positive customer service focus. Diagnoses, repairs, and rebuilds components of fire and rescue vehicles and apparatus, automotive, light, medium and heavy trucks, trailers, road construction light and heavy equipment, waste management heavy equipment and plant equipment. Performs preventative maintenance as required on all vehicles and equipment. Performs field service work as required, utilizing field service trucks and equipment. Uses all shop equipment such as brake lathe, valve machine, metal lathe, welder, oxygen/acetylene torch, electronic engine control diagnostic equipment, charging system analyzer, metal break and shear, and assorted power and hand tools. Performs metal fabrication and repairs as needed. Performs minor body work and painting as needed. Assists Fleet Maintenance Supervisor with the training of Fleet Management personnel and other areas as needed. Prepares records and reports on work accomplished.
