Nancy Crow, internationally renowned quilt artist, will discuss contemporary quilts and key developments in her artistic career during the lecture. Her lecture, "Quilts and Influences," will include a slide show of her work. Crow is an artist whose medium is quilt making. She was named Fellow of the American Craft Council in 1999 and received the National Living Treasure Award in 1996. Her work is in the permanent collections of The Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian Institution and the American Craft Museum, New York City. Crow will sign her new book, Nancy Crow, following the lecture. In this visually powerful, provocative, and deeply sensitive book, Nancy Crow showcases six major series of her work. There are hundreds of photographs of full quilts and quilt details that display the complexity of her world view and the excellence of her workmanship
